Gloria is currently an instructor at Northwestern’s Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC) where she combines her passion for teaching with her experiences in patient care. She is the Chair of NUPOC’s Health Equity Council. Prior to her transition to teaching, Gloria received her Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist in a variety of different clinical settings.
Recognizing the need for a dedicated platform to safely address the unique challenges faced by Asian American and Pacific Islander professionals and students in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Gloria brought a group of highly dedicated leaders together and founded Asian Pacific American Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (APAAPO).
Gloria has a diverse background as a child of first generation immigrant parents and living in Asia for six years as a third culture kid. Through her own family’s experiences with health disparities as well as practicing in underserved Chicago communities, she is committed to advancing health equity.
For leisure, Gloria enjoys arts and crafts, trying new cuisines, and snowboarding with her family.
